Tokoji Temple
Tokoji Temple was founded in 1691 and contains the burial site of half of the Mori feudal lords, who governed Hagi during the Edo Period (1603-1868), and who were alternatively buried at either Tokoji or Daishoin. The graves are located in the woods behind the temple buildings and are surrounded by 500 stone lanterns donated by the Lord's retainers. On August 15th all of these lanterns are lit making an impressive sight.
