Large double bench w/columnades;site of Herbert Othniel Bennett and family.
Herbert Bennett (and sons) was the owner of the Hubbard Oven Company on Belden and Racine Avenues in Chicago. It is now part of the DePaul U. campus site.
The company manufactured and sold the first 'portable' ovens in the U.S. (Chicago/New York), the patent was developed in Canada by John Hubbard.
The Bennetts were from Cobourg, Ontario and settled in Chicago in 1880s and became founding members of the parish of St. Mary of the Lake on Sheridan. They lived in that area of Uptown.
